Canada Lithium Updates on Quebec Project‎
At the Quebec Lithium project being developed by Canada Lithium the last 43-101 report brought a mixed bag of results.
Based on the completion of a 10,300 meter drilling exploratory program the indicated resource has been measured at 33.2 million tones. This is 13.5% higher than the estimate which was done in May 2011. That estimate was based on the pit shell and used a cut off of 0.08%.
However the inferred resources have come down by 34% to 13.8 million tones. They were initially estimated at 20.9 million tones. The grade of the Lithium Carbonate ore has gone up from a projected 1.15% to 1.21%.
The updated resources report was made by AMC Mining Consultants who used the data collected from the 56 holes drilled between June and August 2011 as the source for the figures.
The lithium carbonate project being developed at a cost of $200 million is located close to 60 km north of Val d’Or.
The Canada Lithium company hopes to begin production at the mine in Quebec in the first quarter of 2013. The mine is to produce battery grade lithium.
