Reservoir Minerals Starts Drilling at Plavkovo Project

Reservoir Minerals has started a drill program at its Plavkovo exploration permit, Serbia.

The company has planned a primary diamond drilling for up to 600 m in the Gypsum Zone of the Plavkovo prospect in order to examine the targets obtained from geophysical surveys and surface sampling mapping during 2011.

The Plavkovo region has several anomalous occurrences and is believed to have high potential for gold mineralization of epithermal-type. Euromax Resources identified porphyry mineralization of gold and copper at the Rudnitsa permit, according to an option agreement signed with Freeport McMoRan Exploration.

The Plavkovo prospect is noticed by a broad anastomosing sulphide-bearing quartz veinlets and veins zone of 150 m in a structurally controlled brecciated and esites zone showing strong argillic alteration. Former exploration has included grab-sampling of the outcrops, located in the Plavkovo region, and encountered 13.55 ppm gold. The company averaged 0.36 ppm gold from the 253 rock samples of the prospect. Chip-channel sampling program from four trenches and outcrops examined 360 m of strike along the mineralized formation. The mineralization opened in trenches B and C have continued to the waste material from previous exploration and significant mining.

Outcrops’ systematic sampling in the gypsum zone has encountered 2.2 ppm gold over 2 m and 0.58 ppm gold over 14.2 m. Two resistivity and induced polarization geophysical profiles over this zone discovered very strong conductivity and chargeability anomalies. The location of this zone is approximately 400 m towards the eastern part of the trenches. This zone has suggested a potential continuity of mineralized formation for almost 800 m.
