African Queen Mines Engages Drillers for Ghana Gold Project
Having received legal clearances African Queen Mines has decided to proceed with a core drilling program at the Noyem - Nyanfoman project in Ghana.
The project which is located in the Ashanti Belt will see E-Drilling Ghana and E.Global Drilling Corp conduct an exploratory drilling which should accelerate the development of the project.
Both E-Drilling Ghana and E.Global Drilling Corp are units of Enregold Drilling. The exploratory program will be overseen by the technical team at African Queen Mines and the consultant company they have hired, Remote Exploration Services. A historic inferred resource of around 1.1 million ounces of gold was established at the project by its previous owners Newmont Mining at the gold project located within the Birim North District of Ghana's Eastern Region.
Irwin Olian, the chief executive officer of African Queen Mines said that their hope was that their drilling and exploration efforts would lead to development of a successful commercial mining operation that would contribute significantly to the economic growth of the region as well as the well-being and prosperity of the local community and Nyanfoman people.
The drilling program plans to have initial holes in the depth range of 100 to 200 meters. The objects of the drilling exploratory program are twofold. First is to test and confirm the gold mineralization that Newmont Mining had announced and second to test new targets on the project that the company has unearthed in the last 24 months of exploration.
