Vanstar Mining to Resume Drill Program at Nelligan Project

Vanstar Mining Resources has reported that it will resume the drill campaign at the Nelligan project during early August.

The company’s second program will include 1,000 m of drilling, totaling seven or eight holes, and will confirm the in-depth and lateral expansions of the 95-01 and 94-13 historical hole drilled by Soquem and Oasis Resources. The company will conduct the drill program in Zone B, which is situated 200 m towards the eastern part of Zone A. This new program follows the previous one, which was completed during May.

Drilling of 1,254 m, totaling five holes, was included in the May program, which allowed to confirm the in-depth expansions of the Nelligan showing’s Zone A and to validate the in-depth continuity of gold. The length of this zone is 400 m and stays exposed in depth and in lateral direction.

The Nelligan project encloses 5,000 ha, totaling 92 cells, and is situated near Chapais in North Quebec.

The Nelligan project lies in a geological environment, which favors the occurrence of mineralized gold. The existence of tourmaline-quartz veins is a significant indicator, related to the Nelligan showing. The Philibert deposit is situated towards the northern part of the Nelligan project and is associated to a vein system that includes carbonate and tourmaline with light pyrite mineralization, and white smokey quartz. More gold seems to occur when pyrite and tourmaline are found in the veins.

The company encountered 3.5 g/t gold over 10 m and 2.17 g/t gold over 4.4 m in holes 95-01 and 94-13 drilled in Zone B, respectively. The location of the Nelligan showing is in the region of the Lac Meston deposit, the Philibert deposit and the Joe Mann mine.
