Orestone Reports Significant New Magnetic Anomalies on Captain Gold-Copper Project

Orestone Mining Corp. has now received and compiled the final data from a 130 line-kilometer detailed ground magnetic survey at its Captain gold-copper project, north central BC.

The survey has outlined nine large magnetic anomalies peripheral to an interpreted central magnetic high intrusive body (see "2013 Magnetic Target Areas Map" on the Company's website at www.orestone.ca/s/captain.asp). These new magnetic anomalies are very significant given that recent drilling has shown a direct correlation between magnetic dike swarms and disseminated porphyry gold mineralization.

Drilling conducted in late 2012 intercepted disseminated gold-copper mineralization associated with magnetic monzonite dyke swarms and strong potassic alteration conforming to the classic alkalic porphyry model. The data generated from the magnetic survey has defined the size and shape of the magnetic targets which are also related to moderate IP chargeability highs in excess of 10mV/V (millivolts/volts). Combined, this data has defined compelling drill targets which will allow our future drilling efforts to focus on the magnetite/gold association.

Recent diamond drill hole C12-05, intersected long intervals of 0.30-0.65 g/t gold and 0.06-0.07% copper over 119-165m, including 9m of 6.5 g/t gold and 0.27% copper as well as 6m of 4.4 g/t gold and 0.51% copper (News Release Jan 14, 2013). When plotted on the new magnetic map, C12-05 and drill hole C11-01 lie on the southern fringe of a large circular magnetic high (T1) known as the Admiral target. The Admiral target measures 1000m x 1500m and is similar in size and intensity to the magnetic high associated with the "MBX" and "66" ore bodies at the Mount Milligan Mine located 30 kilometers to the north. This is the highest priority drill target on the Captain project and will be drilled at the start of the 2013 summer field season. Recent logging of timber in the Admiral target area has created a network of roads which will permit easy drill rig access. Five additional northwest trending magnetic highs are present to the east/southeast of the Admiral target varying in width from 100-200m and length from 300-700m.

The survey on the West Mag target area has outlined three large magnetic highs over a northwesterly trending area measuring 2500m x 5000m, the largest and most significant, T9 measures 1000m x 4000m with a northwesterly strike length. These large targets lie four km to the west of the Admiral target and, although no drilling has been conducted in this area, it is believed they represent magnetite-potassic alteration and magnetic monzonite intrusives.

Gary Nordin, VP Exploration states "Orestone is very pleased with the results of the detailed ground magnetic survey which has confirmed the correlation between strong magnetic alteration and gold-copper mineralization intersected in drilling. Magnetic trends are now drill-ready with three of the outlined magnetic highs similar in size to the magnetic anomalies associated with the nearby Mt. Milligan orebodies. Future drilling at Captain has good potential to outline a large gold-copper system".

The 100% owned Captain Project hosts a large gold-copper porphyry system measuring 7 by 14 kilometers located 41 kilometers north of Fort St. James, British Columbia and approximately 30 kilometers south of the Mt. Milligan gold-copper deposit. The Captain Project features relatively flat terrain, moderate tree cover and an extensive network of logging and Forest Service roads suitable for exploration year around. The Company has or is applying for all permits to facilitate the next several phases of exploration. For additional information including maps referenced our website.
