GoldQuest Mining has declared that it will conduct a C$500,000 drilling program at the Escandalosa gold project in the Dominican Republic.

Rio Tinto has gained the majority stake in Ivanhoe Mines. This will give it better control over the development of gold and copper deposits in Mongolia. The control of the Oyu Tolgoi project has been a bone of contention between the two companies for a long while now.
Woulfe Mining said that it had completed the second phase of drilling at its Sangdong mine. The indicated resource at the mine has been increased 2.75 times as per the exploration program and will give the mine a life of ten years.

Denison Mines, an intermediate uranium producer, declared that it has commenced the 2012 winter drill program at its Wheeler River project, which is situated in the Northern Saskatchewan’s Athabasca Basin region. In addition to this Wheeler River project, the company has planned five more drilling programs in the Athabasca Basin.
Mega Uranium and Forum Uranium have begun a 16-hole drilling program at the Northwest Athabasca property. This program includes a 4,000 m of drilling.
