IBC Advanced Alloys (IBC) has announced the receipt of the progress report from the 2011 exploration conducted at its properties in Utah.
Northern Gold Mining has reported the additional assay results of 2,800 m of drilling program, totaling eight diamond drill holes, conducted at Garrcon deposit.

Rio Tinto is expanding its iron ore operation in Pilbara and is going to spend $3.4 billion to do so. The Western Australia mining operations are to be boosted to help the company meet the target of a 50% increase in iron ore production.
BHP Billiton has hit record earnings boosted by iron ore production. The mining giant with a highly diversified portfolio that includes iron ore, coal, copper, zinc, diamonds, oil and natural gas has posted a profit of US$9.9 billion for the first half of the 2012 financial year.

Red 5 Limited, an Australian listed mining company has made a production output forecast of 850,000 ounces of gold over a period of 11 years from the Siana project.
Nevada Gold Corp. has restarted production at its Nevada mine. The Jerrit Canyon gold mining operation in the state had been shut down for installation of new equipment and other maintenance issues since January 6, 2012.

Premier Gold Mines hopes to acquire two patented claim groups situated in the East Bay ultramafic trend in Red Lake. Both claim groups are close to the Footwall Zone on the East Bay Project. This is an active joint venture that the company runs with partner Red Lake Gold Mines.
