TGS to Begin 3D Multi-Client Seismic Survey at Offshore Northwest Australia

TGS has announced the beginning of a fresh three-dimensional multi-client seismic survey acquisition during November 2011.

The area of the survey has enclosed 9,700 sq. km over the Exmouth Plateau, which is located in the offshore NW Australia. This region has enclosed the recently available land in the WA-364-P, WA-365-P and WA-367-P blocks and is contiguous to the present huge gas discoveries.

The senior Vice President for Asia Pacific, Africa and Middle East, of the company has stated that the regulatory modifications in Australia have been made more significant in this market for multi-client dealings. The company is delighted to obtain seismic information in this latest market, which is the region with high possibility for exploration. This three-dimensional project in Australia is compatible with the planned schedule and has shown a new development for the company in a potential area.

M/V Viking Vision will obtain the seismic information and will finish during the first quarter of 2012. The company will provide a fast track volume to the industry during the second quarter of 2012 and the final information will be available for the complete survey during the first quarter of 2013. Industrial grant is assisting the survey.
