AuRo Resources Updates on Exploration at Surata Gold Project

AuRo Resources has provided details on the ongoing exploration campaign at the Surata gold project, whose area is 18,734 ha, in Colombia.

Among the land packages in the mining district of California-Surata-Vetas, this property is the largest and is situated around 10 km towards the western part of Vetas gold project in Colombia.

Rock chip and stream sediment sampling, aerial magnetic and radiometric surveys will be included in the present exploration phase. Definition of drill targets, including geochemical soil surveys and structural mapping, will be done on the main anomalous regions. Diamond drill program will examine the key targets identified during this campaign. The company has completed rock chip and stream sediment samples, totaling 100 samples, at Surata on December 23, 2011 and is waiting for the preliminary assay results during January end, 2012.

The company is exploring the Surata property for intrusive related, structurally controlled epithermal mineralization of gold-silver and gold. AuRo’s exploration at four Surata concessions has discovered numerous intrusive bodies, which are associated closely in composition and age to intrusives that have large mineralization of silver and gold in the area. These bodies contain Angostura project of Eco Oro Minerals, Vetas project of CB Gold, La Mascota and LaBodega deposits of AUX, and California gold discoveries of Galway, situated around 10 km towards the Surata project’s eastern part. The district’s mineralized gold is connected with fault systems trending from northeast to the southwest. Two northeast trending faults cut parts of the property at the Surata gold project.
