Oxford Catalysts to Discuss About Distributed GTL Solution at 12th World XTL Summit

At the 12th World XTL Summit to be held in London, Oxford Catalysts Group’s Commercial Director, Jeff McDaniel will deliver a presentation titled ‘The Distributed GTL Solution,’ in which he will describe the benefits of modular gas-to-liquids (GTL) plants.

GTL holds potential in energy production, particularly in North America, due to factors such as support for cleaner fuels, push for energy security, more rigorous environmental regulations for gas flaring reduction, and low gas prices. Market opportunities for low value gas resources are certainly existing with synthetic fuel potential of 25 bpd from stranded gas and associated gas, along with shale gas production growth.

According to McDaniel, installing more massive GTL plants like Shell’s Pearl Plant located in Qatar is not the only option in front of us. In the presentation, McDaniel will talk about the benefits of modular GTL plants as a cost-effective and feasible alternative for monetizing shale, stranded, and associated gases. He will also discuss Oxford Catalysts Group’s recent advancements in the commercialization of its modular GTL technology for a variety of applications.

Scaling up of modular GTL plants integrating microchannel reactors is possible in order to match the resource size, said McDaniel. By using a cost-effective and highly efficient technique to generate clean liquid fuels from shale gas resources and smaller scale gas fields, and to decrease wasteful flaring of associated gas, modular GTL offers a breakthrough technology capable of handling the issues related to distributed processing of gas.
