Levon Resources has confirmed that the Cordero 43-101 resource is now outlined by the offset grid drill program at the Cordero project, which is situated 35 km to the northeast part of Hidalgo Del Parral in Mexico.
Taku Gold has currently completed the deep auger-type soil sampling phase of the exploration campaign at the Portland property during 2011.
Vantex Resources will commence a drill program at the Moriss showing, which is located in the Galloway project in Rouyn-Noranda. The company will begin the program in early September 2011.

In a massive crackdown on illegal coal mines China shut down 1,289 such mines last year. The nationwide effort was undertaken to cull the illegal production of coal in the country. 86 people have also arrested on criminal charges related to mine safety.

Three out of 26 miners trapped in a flooded mine pit in China were rescued on Saturday. The mine in Northeast China's Heilongjiang province was flooded on Tuesday as 45 miners were working in the pit.

In a small-scale poll the majority of Australian respondents support a ban on coal seam gas (CSG) mining while the study of the impact of the industry on the environment intensifies. 68% of respondents said that a moratorium should be put in to place for coal seam gas mining while the environmental impacts were studied.

The bid to list the entire West Kimberly region as a heritage site has been seen by the Chamber of Minerals and Energy for Western Australia as an emotional over reaction. The Australian Heritage Council is making this demand of the federal government to put the brakes on any future mining projects in the region.

Gabriel Resources Ltd has been asked to lower its cyanide level in a tailing pond in the Rosia Montana gold-mine project by Environment Minister of Romania.
Image Resources is beginning their feasibility study on the North Perth Basin Heavy Mineral Project in Western Australia. The company owns the property outright and hopes to begin production by 2014. This is supported by the Scoping Study completed in August 2011.
