Velocity Receives Soil Geochemistry Survey Results, Starts Drilling at Rozino Gold Deposit

Velocity Minerals Ltd. reports it has obtained the soil geochemistry survey results from the South Zone target, about 1 km south of Main Zone at the Rozino gold deposit (“Rozino”), southeast Bulgaria. Drill testing of the targets has started.

Furthermore, three prospective areas in the immediate neighborhood of Rozino have been investigated by large-scale soil and stream sediment surveys. The Company classifies these targets, situated 1 to 6 km from the Rozino deposit, as promising to share common infrastructure with the Rozino deposit if a major discovery were to be made.

As possible add-ons, these targets have been ranked for regional geochemical screening. Results of the regional surveys are yet to be received.

South Zone Soil Geochemistry

The South Zone soil geochemical survey results have located a high-priority drill target, around 1 km south of the Rozino deposit. In total, four drill holes have been scheduled to test the South Zone target, and drilling has begun.

Soil sampling has recognized a large coherent gold anomaly (21-point, 25 m x 25 m grid) within the recently outlined sediments, which are the same as those that host the Rozino gold deposit. The soil geochemistry at Rozino is distinguished by anomalous gold with very low concentrations of arsenic, silver, and antimony that are related to the higher levels of the mineralizing system.

These high-level pathfinder elements are related to the non-gold bearing portion of the Rozino deposit, and the definition of gold in soils (with peak values > 1 g/ton gold) with a Rozino multielement signature is very promising.

The soil results within the recently identified target formation, potentially represent the ‘sweet spot’ of the mineralising system and are very encouraging. The company has immediately started a wide spaced four-hole drill program to be completed before year-end.

Regional Geochemical Surveys

In recent times, Velocity has finished geochemical screening with 974 regional soil samples at Tumbata and 38 stream sediment drainage samples at Vis and Arpa. All three targets signify unique pull-apart sedimentary basins within the 6 km long Ivaylovgrad structural corridor.

Results are yet to be received, and follow up regional exploration within the 163 km2 Tintyava Prospecting Licence will be underway throughout 2020.

Quality Assurance/Quality Control

Rozino’s work program was designed and supervised by Stuart A. Mills, CGeol, the Company’s Vice-President Exploration, who is accountable for all facets of the work, including the quality control/quality assurance program.

On-site personnel at the project meticulously gather and track samples, which are later security sealed and transported to ALS Global laboratory in Romania for sample preparation and follow-up analysis of the pulped materials at Als’ laboratory in Ireland.

Samples used for the results illustrated herein are prepared and examined for Multielement Inductively Coupled Mass Spectrometry in accordance with industry standards. Field duplicate samples, blanks, and independent controlled reference material (standards) are included in every batch. The South Zone soil survey spanned an area of 1200 m x 600 m and comprised of 926 soil samples gathered on a 25 m x 25 m grid.
