Caza Gold Identifies Preliminary Drill Target at the Quisaltepe Gold Zone in Nicaragua

Caza Gold’s President and CEO, Greg Myers declared that the company has identified a preliminary drill target at the Quisaltepe high sulfidation epithermal gold zone located on the Los Andes project in Nicaragua.

Comprehensive rock chip sampling and geological mapping have identified a strong gold anomaly over a region measuring 300 m wide and 2 km long. Gold values of up to 2.53 gpt in rock chip samples are related with silicified zones and argillic changes which are characteristic of high sulfidation epithermal gold deposits.

Significant gold values seem to be related with the junctions of faulty structures, which indicate mineralization leakage within the hydrothermal system. The Quisaltepe high sulfidation epithermal gold zone lies at the border of a volcanic caldera, which is one of a series of high sulfidation epithermal modified zones and volcanic calderas located on a fault zone that delineates the Central Gold Belt in Nicaragua.

Major changes and trace metal anomalies at the Quisaltepe gold zone are zoned around 2nd order north-trending and northeast cross-faults. The Pedregal, San Francisco and Quisaltepe drill targets lie along a fault zone, which is northeast-trending and intersected by the northwest-trending faults.

Within the structural zone, which is trending northeast, over 40 silicified breccia bodies with trace metal anomalies and argillic and argillic changes occur, and contain anomalous gold and trace metals values, which are linked to gold like tellurium, bismuth, and arsenic.

The company has scheduled the Phase 1 drilling campaign, which will begin shortly at the Quisaltepe zone and focus on the Cerro Quisaltepe’s northern flank to analyze the shallow sections of the fault zones beneath the surface gold anomalies. Four to six holes will trend towards the south.

An analogous target exists towards the north of Quisaltepe gold zone on the lower ridgelines and is characterized by the 2.53 gpt rock chip sample. This region contains a number of landslide deposits and irregular outcrops enclosing silicified breccia bodies. The company intends to examine this structure zone.
