The company has returned 239 g/t silver and 544 ppm bismuth over 6.3 m, 96 g/t silver over 17.5 m from the channel LBW, which is situated in the stripping region’s central portion.
Paget Minerals has reported the drilling results from the Ball Creek project. The drilling program was conducted on the Rainbow gold porphyry target, which is situated in the Golden Triangle - Iskut Mineral District in Northwest BC.

Uranium North Resource has declared that the 2011 exploration program on the Nunavut-based Nowyak property has enabled the company to discover high grade silver and gold mineralization with grab samples of assays up to 1040 g/t Ag, 72.1 g/t Au, and 5.8% copper.

Granite Creek Gold declared that it had drilled 1,280 m in six holes in the fall of 2011 from three regions in the Buzzer West and Buzzer zones. The hole GC 11-74 returned excellent results with 0.008% Mo, 57.6 m of 0.237% Cu, 0.174 g/t Au and 1.5 g/t Ag.

International Montoro Resources (IMT) has finished an AeroMAG radiometric and magnetic aerial geophysical survey on the Tacheeda Lake rare earth elements prospect.

The Fortescue Metals Group (FMG) announced that they had resumed mining operations at two of its mines in the Pilbara region after flooding due to Tropical Cyclone Heidi had forced operations to be suspended. The company is the third largest producer of iron ore in Australia.
Dart Mining is hoping to carry out a drilling program to upgrade its resources at the Unicorn Deposit located in north east Victoria. The Australian Securities Exchange listed company has hired drilling contractor Techdrill Services to help with the drilling program.
Australian mining company Blackham Resources announced that its recently acquired Matilda Gold Project has an existing Inferred Resource of 10.2 million tonnes at 1.8 grams per tonne for 601,000 ounces of gold.
The state of Indiana is soon to be the host to the biggest coal mine in all of eastern USA. However the Bear Run Mine in southwestern Indiana is worrying environmental groups as it steps up to become the largest coal mine in the region.
The largest deposit of diamonds in Asia has been discovered in the Liaoning province in China. The mine in the Wafandgdian district near the city of Dalian is expected to hold one million carats of diamonds. It was discovered last year.

The Kayenta mine on the Navajo and Hopi reservations has been given a renewed operating permit. The mine in northern Arizona is owned by Peabody Energy Corp. The coal from the mine is used to feed the Navajo Generating Station.
