Grange Resources has raised its full year production output by 15 % after the iron ore grades at Savage River mine took an upturn. The iron ore pellet producer said that the Tasmanian mine would help boost their production in 2012.
Wallbridge Mining Company Limited has signed an agreement with Lonmin Plc in which Lonmin will buy 13.2 million units of Wallbridge for $2.5 million. Each unit of the Canadian company will cost Lonmin CAD $0.19 and comprise of one common share of Wallbridge and a half common share purchase warrant.
London Mining is working on expanding the iron ore project it operates in Sierra Leone. The company hopes to load its first shipment from the Marampa mine this month.
Newmont Mining said that costs for mining gold and copper would rise this year. This will be due to higher labor and power costs in Australia. The company also said that it would expect a lower production of copper this year due to hitting low grade ores Indonesia.

Lundin Mining Corporation declared that its fourth quarter copper output was up by 10%. The company produced 27,488 tonnes of copper in the final quarter of 2011.
New Dawn Mining said that it had resumed mining operations at its Turk and Angelus mine in Zimbabwe. Mining had been stopped by underground mine workers at the mine last week, but now full mining operations are on track.

Australian mining companies are being asked to buy Chinese equipment as a pre-condition to exporting minerals. Contracts are said to specify that the companies buy specific, non-Australian manufactured equipment. This is being seen as an outrage by Australian manufacturers.

Iamgold Corp’s fourth quarter production for 2011 of gold is down by 20%. The Toronto based company produced 253,000 attributable ounces of gold in the final quarter of last year compared to 315,000 attributable ounces of gold in the last quarter of 2010.
Argonaut Resources, a junior Australian mining firm, has criticized the South Australian government for wasting its time and money over mining and native title regulation. The criticism came after the exploration license it was given for its Torrens Joint Venture was overturned.

Tres-Or Resources has intersected significant mineralization from the primary two hole program conducted at the Fabre silver property, Northwest Quebec. The property is located at the Cobalt Silver Mining Camp’s southeast limits.
Puma Exploration has reported the channel sampling results from the Dante Lens at Nicholas-Denys, situated in New Brunswick. The company has returned 239 g/t silver and 544 ppm bismuth over 6.3 m, 96 g/t silver over 17.5 m from the channel LBW, which is situated in the stripping region’s central portion.
Paget Minerals has reported the drilling results from the Ball Creek project. The drilling program was conducted on the Rainbow gold porphyry target, which is situated in the Golden Triangle - Iskut Mineral District in Northwest BC.

Uranium North Resource has declared that the 2011 exploration program on the Nunavut-based Nowyak property has enabled the company to discover high grade silver and gold mineralization with grab samples of assays up to 1040 g/t Ag, 72.1 g/t Au, and 5.8% copper.

Granite Creek Gold declared that it had drilled 1,280 m in six holes in the fall of 2011 from three regions in the Buzzer West and Buzzer zones. The hole GC 11-74 returned excellent results with 0.008% Mo, 57.6 m of 0.237% Cu, 0.174 g/t Au and 1.5 g/t Ag.
