Russia is to help Iran develop a zinc deposit. The Mehdiabad zinc and lead deposit is the largest in the world and an agreement has been reached between the two nations to develop the resource. Deposits at the Mehdiabad reserve, near Yazd in central Iran, amount to 394 million tonnes of zinc, lead and silver.
