Wolf Minerals announced that the Hemerdon tungsten mine held one of the biggest tungsten resources in the world. The mine is located near Plymouth, UK and Wolf Minerals has already obtained funds worth four million pounds to develop the mine site.

The coal mining company Banpu Pcl from Thailand is to bid for the Australian-based coal explorer Hunnu Coal. Hunnu Coal is focused on Mongolia and had called for a trading halt on its shares last Friday saying that a potentially significant corporate transaction was due on or before Tuesday.

Paladin Energy has withdrawn $127.2 million from the project finance facility for its Langer Heinrich uranium mine. The project is said to be the fifth biggest uranium mine in the world based on output.
According to global mining giant Rio Tinto, the global demand for refined copper is going to soar over the next decade. The demand for copper by 2020 will rise by close to 40% to 27 million tonnes as per the country director of Rio Tinto in Mongolia, Cameron McRae.
The Premier of Western Australia Colin Barnett has said that the resolution of the Oakajee port and rail development matter is merely weeks away. He said that the project was the most difficult one that he had worked on as Premier in his three years in office, but he was confident that it would commence soon.

Magellan Minerals has reported finding a new zone of gold mineralization situated nearly 360 meters north of the Central zone at the ‘Cuiu Cuiu’ project in Brazil. The previously unrecognized zone which has a significant resource estimate has now been named Central North.
