Simba Gold has completed a detailed surface exploration campaign at the Miyove gold project in Africa.
The company started surface exploration during October 2011 and continued it till early December. This exploration included a comprehensive geological mapping, a ground magnetic survey and a significant rock and soil sampling program. The company gathered 134 rock samples and 1243 soil samples, and completed the ground magnetics for a 100 line-km. It has sent all samples to the lab for testing and is waiting for the data.
The program results will offer enough data to plan a drilling campaign, which will begin in 2012 and will analyze the continuity of the structures of several prominent gold zones. UTM Exploration Services of British Columbia performed the program.
The company has sent the samples gathered for rock and soil geochemistry to the sample preparation facility of ALS Laboratory in Mwanza Tanzania. It has delivered the prepared samples to the major North American laboratory in BC for the final pulverizing and testing. Fire assay (FA) method along with an atomic absorption finish will be employed to test the rock samples for gold. FA and gravimetric method will re-assay all the rock samples, with over 1,000 ppm of gold. Aqua regia digestion will be used to analyze the soil samples for gold.
